About our Friday Night Dance

    Trip the Light Fantastic's Friday Night Dance is a partner  
    dance night in Oakland for women and their friends and takes
    place on 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from 7:30 - 11:00
    PM.  Dancing includes two-stepping, east and west coast
    swing, salsa, waltzes, nightclub 2-step and line dances.

    Please check our  calendar for details on what's happening
    each Friday.

    Some of the salient features of this dance event are:

  • Most  weeks there is a lesson followed by hours of
    dancing
  • Beginners are always welcome
  • You don't need a partner to join
  • 1st Friday Zodiac Night - free admission for that
    months sign
  • Every 1st  Friday is Country Night
  • It is SCENT, SMOKE & ALCOHOL FREE
  • Often we have Dress up theme nights
  • It's a great atmosphere and lots of fun
  • Everyone Welcome each week

    Admission: Sliding Scale $10 - $20
    Time: 7:30 - 11:00 PM 1st and 3rd Fridays (check calendar)
    Location: Lake Merritt Dance Center, 200 Grand Avenue,
    Oakland
    Call Roke's cell at 510.681.9740 if you can't find it.
    By Car:
  • Highway 580-exit Harrison Avenue. Go straight on
    Harrison till you get to 27th St where you make a left at
    a 711. Immediately after that you turn right in to a
    parking lot of this big white building (also the Oakland
    Veteran's Building). We will be at the Upstairs
    Ballroom.
    By Bart:
  • Get off at 19th St station in Oakland and walk on
    Broadway up to Grand Avenue (towards 20th). Make a
    right at Grand and walk up to Harrison. Cross Harrison
    and the beautiful white building on your left is where
    you want to be.
